Japan has successfully imposed itself on the world with various cars, sushi, tech gadgets and adorable pocket monsters. Commemorate consumerism with today’s Groupon: for RM40, you get a platter of Oshi sushi platter, seafood spaghetti salad, edamame (green beans), potato salad, and orange slices for two people at Izakaya Ichiban in Hartamas Shopping Centre (RM92.80 total value).
Raw fish rangers delight in the five varieties of Osaka-style sushi, hustling to taste the unagi (eel), ebi (prawn), salmon, tori teriyaki (grilled chicken) and grilled Saba fish (mackerel), accompanied by pickled ginger and wasabi. These traditional sushi are made from a special mould, giving it a rectangular shape as compared to sushi elsewhere. Creating a minor diversion, choppy chopsticks make a dash for the seafood spaghetti salad, picking up the prawns, squids, scallops and tobiko (fish roe) blended with mayonnaise and garnished with parsley. Herbivorous humanoids polish off edamame (green beans) and potato salad.
Modern Zen decorations, amidst a family themed restaurant inspire and tranquilise satisfied customers, creating a conducive environment for work or social network investigations. From a kaiten (conveyor belt) style dining to the sake sipping, sushi savouring Izakaya concept, this restaurant caters to the needs of modern samurais.

One reason why I lovey Izakaya Ichiban is their wide variety of sushi rolls and also its all very unique and special plus generous fillings!! – Oct 27, 2008.
See how thick the salmon was...drooling! And it's very fresh! Yum! Sometimes some restaurant may only give you tiny pieces for sashimi on promo but Izakaya didn't let us down though ^_^ - May 27, 2009.
Izakaya style restaurants are very common in Japan and these are casual restaurants, laid back in nature to me. At times, it's not only about how good the food is that matters but how the place can make one feel - so comfortable and at home. – Mar 27, 2009.
