Amidst the shimmering, earthen coloured walls bequeathed with Middle Eastern regalia, wilderness wanderers savour the zesty character of fresh herbs from the oasis, eschewing any thoughts of sand in their food. Dish-wielding stewards bring out the soup of the day and a serving of romaine lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber tossed in olive oil and lemon juice. This garden salad precedes a cataclysmic combination of shish tawook -- boneless grilled chicken breast served with garlic sauce, and shish kebab -- grilled minced lamb marinated with Arabic mixed herbs.
